We meet on Thursdays from 6.30-8.30pm at Universty of Edinburgh buildings in central Edinburgh. The Uni give us free access to rooms through their Community Access to Rooms Scheme.

For this coming term, Winter / Spring 2025, (9th January - 27th March) we are in:

However, if you are coming for the first time and are not on the mailing list, please email us to confirm the venue, as this may be liable to change (and we sometimes don't update the website in time). There are toilets and water fountain nearby.

Term Dates and Fees -  January 9th to 27th March

£5 full fee / £3 concession drop-in rate

 

Cash or card accepted. Payment taken in the 10 minute break. You can pay in person every time you attend (we have a card reader). However, the slightly discounted price (minus 1 session) for whole-term payment is our MUCH preferred payment option. It makes it easier to track payments and means less money goes to our card reader provider. It also means the person with the card reader can have a break too!

Fees should not be a barrier to anyone attending, and if you are not in a position to pay a fee, just have a word with Anne, Joe, or Caro and we can waive it altogether. Any queries can also be sent to our treasurer Anne via castlechorus@gmail.com.

 

Castle Chorus Connections:

We have a private Facebook group for our members to share socially which you are welcome to join if you sing with us. We also have a WhatsApp group. Our Facebook page covers our public facing announcements and our YouTube channel is where we share any music we share online. We also have some recordings on Facebook and SoundCloud (see links below)

Castle Chorus - how we work

Castle Chorus is run by a voluntary committee who are informally elected at our AGM. They work with our Musical Director Caro Overy to organise concerts, workshops, other creative projects for the choir and our weekend away. Caro is employed on a freelance basis as our Musical Director and paid according to Musicians’ Union rates for her work. The committee manages our choir finances and bank account and they provide an ‘accountability filter’ of sorts for Caro!
